Alfonse

Aperçu

A prince of the Kingdom of Askr—the setting of the story—and the wielder of the divine weapon Fólkvangr. He belongs to the Order of Heroes, a special task force that harnesses the power of heroes from other worlds, and works alongside its commander, Anna, and his younger sister, [Princess Sharon](https://anilist.co/character/124413/Sharon), to safeguard the peace of the realm. He is a kind, earnest young man who never uses his status as a prince to lord over others, treating even a newly met [Summoner](https://anilist.co/character/124407/Eclat) with friendly openness. He is personable regardless of social standing and places absolute trust in those he considers allies; yet, for a specific reason, he maintains a certain emotional distance from everyone. While he dislikes unnecessary conflict, he harbors little hesitation regarding unavoidable war or the taking of lives; he is prepared to draw his sword against any adversary threatening his homeland or companions—even those enemies for whom he might feel a sense of compassion. He appears to enjoy researching in the archives. Although he modestly claims to struggle with academic study, he is actually a studious and highly knowledgeable intellectual. He possesses a broad education, well-versed in subjects ranging from the history of Askr and Embla to the lore of other worlds (summarizing the history of the *Fire Emblem* series) and various festivals; he is even capable of deciphering complex ancient scripts. He frequently uses this knowledge to explain matters to Sharon and the others (as well as the player), serving as the Order of Heroes' resident source of wisdom. Beyond his vast knowledge, he possesses a quick mind; when the group faces a mystery, it is usually Alfonse who deduces the correct answer from the available information and resolves the situation. He also shines as a strategist in the mental battles of warfare; the story often highlights his tactical insight—such as his ability to read enemy psychology—allowing the group to escape dire straits and demonstrating his skill in outwitting seasoned veterans like [Laegjarn](https://anilist.co/character/126728/Laegjarn) and [Lif](https://anilist.co/character/136766/Lf).
